Monday, April 11, 2022 would go down as one of a divine encounter with God at the Tema Community 5 assembly of the International Central Gospel Church, ICGC Zoe Temple.

Praises were trumpeted, the atmosphere shifted and worship went up like a smoke of sweet fragrance touching the very throne room of God as believers converged on the first day of the Open Heavens Conference.

The annual Open Heavens Conference is one of the major programmes run by Zoe Temple and arguably one of the largest gathering of Christians in the industrial-port city of Tema.

The church known for its excellence in service delivery and time consciousness, ensured that the programme kick-started at exactly 6:30pm with prayers, followed by praise and worship from the ever-sensational spirit-filled Zoe Praise Team.

The guest preacher for the night, Bishop Isaac Quaye of Word of Life Christian Centre, Accra, ministered what can be best described as a timely and timeless message to the congregants on the conference theme; Open Heavens.

He echoed the mercies of God and encouraged believers that when the heavens are open, everyone is a candidate of God’s mercy as far they genuinely love him. He said, when God chooses to show one mercy, it does not matter their family background for “God shows mercy to whom he pleases”. Rev. Isaac Quaye pointed out that, the force that is behind the believer to succeed is way greater that the forces that are against them because of their covenant relationship with God.

He admonished Christians to stop giving excuses and rely on the mercies of God. He said Christians are fond of focusing on curses that the blessings that the scriptures carry.

Referencing the book of Deuteronomy 5:7, he says in as much as God says he would visit the sins of the fathers on the children, it does not end there.  He said the verse 10 of the same scripture assures believers that God will show grace and loving-kindness to thousands of generations of those who love and keep his commandment. The focus should therefore be on loving the Lord and keeping his commandments.

He called for renewal of mind through transformative thinking, shifting from fear to confidence and changing negative confessions to a positive one; that is the only way believers can truly experience the blessings that come with open heavens

The first day of the 5-day conference was wrapped up with an intensive prayer session led by conference host, Rev. Kojo Amo-Asare Jr.

Prophet Gideon Danso of Empowerment Worship Centre, Accra will be ministering on day two of the conference, thus, Tuesday, 12th April 2022.
