Carrie Underwood: Still shy about showing her full face after getting 40 stitches

In publicizing the fact that she’s back to work after a scary accident in November, Carrie Underwood posted a photo herself in a recording studio to her social media accounts.
But the photo of the 35-year-old country star only showed her face in profile, People magazine noted.
In fact, Underwood has kept all selfies and photos of herself to a minimum since what she called her Nov. 10 “freak, random accident,” People added.
That’s when she fell down some steps in her Nashville, Tennessee home. In the fall, she said she sustained a broken wrist as well as injuries to her face that required 40 to 50 stitches.
People added that the “American Idol” alum hasn’t bared her full face in public since the accident.
After the fall, Underwood was confronted with what could be of the most traumatic events to strike an entertainer whose personal appearance is part of her brand.
In a letter to her fan club, she disclosed that she wasn’t “looking the same,” E! News reported in January. She added that the accident had changed her life. She said she expected to be heading back to the recording studio sometime soon and knew she would have to one day show her full face in front of a camera.
“I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different,” she wrote. “I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”
Then again, about one month after the accident, “Below Deck” alum Adrienne Gang posted a photo of Underwood and herself after a recent gym workout. The reality TV star said she had “no clue” Underwood had been injured.

From the photo, it appeared that any difference to Underwood’s face were indeed “minimal.”
